Research Interests

My research program spans from psychological measurement and psychometrics over machine learning methods to multilevel modeling. I aim at developing new methods in each area and at their intersection, and I also disseminate the newly developed methods to empirical researchers via software contributions in R.

  • Psychological measurement / Psychometrics: Detecting measurement invariance, e.g. differential item functioning and response styles in item response theory models
  • Machine learning methods: Demonstrating opportunities and pitfalls of machine learning methods and interpretable machine learning in psychology
  • Multilevel modeling: Applying multilevel modeling to hierarchically clustered data, in particular longitudinal data in various research areas

Network Meeting: Multilevel Modelling

In May and September 2022, we organize a network meeting on multilevel modelling in method and applied research for early career researchers. You can find more information under this link.
