Current studies (in German)
We study how children’s understanding of their social environment develops during the very first years of life. From birth, children begin to act within – and interact with – their social environment. This means it is really important for a child to learn how that social environment works. When do children understand other people’s intentions? What do children learn from watching the actions of other people? How does their language develop? These are some of the questions we investigate.
An appointment with us usually lasts about 45 minutes. Each study begins with a familiarisation phase in our reception area, allowing your child to get to know our staff members. During this phase we will inform you of the exact study procedure. The study then takes place in an adjacent study room. Our studies are short (5 - 20 minutes), playful and fun. Your child will watch short videos or try his or her hand at something. You are of course with them at all times. Once the study is over, your child will receive a personalised certificate for having participated and a Kleine Weltentdecker gift.
In addition to our behavioural studies, we also conduct studies using eye tracking, EEC, ECG and touchscreens.
You and your child can help us to keep exploring the incredible abilities of babies and infants. Children and adolescents can take part in our studies.
